Brian Bowman, church planter from Mullins Association in southern Oklahoma, will be in our Association on February 20-21st to share about Valley Life Church, a new church being planted in Phoenix, Arizona.  Our association has partnered with Mullins Association in this effort and Brian will be speaking in the 5pm service at Lincoln Avenue and the 6pm service at FBC Woodward.

It is our hope that we will be able to take a mission trip to the area this summer and we will discuss this in the Pastor’s Conference on February 21st @ 10:00 am.

Will you join me in praying for this new work and for Brian and his family?  It is a serious challenge to plant a new church and see God work in the lives of those who do not treasure Christ to see them saved.  If you are interested in this work, the summer mission trip or how your church can directly be involved with Valley Life

You can find out more information about the new work at Valley Life Church.

If you would like to read more about the process that Mullins Baptist Association went through to plant this church see the article in the Messenger from Jan. 17th.

Our first effort to host a video conference via Skype was a success!  Thanks to Caleb Crider for his helpful words on the Mission of God and how our churches can move into the fields of God’s work with the confidence that we have been sent by God into the world in HIS name.  Too often we relegate ourselves to the sidelines of mission when we opt for a “let the professionals” take the lead approach and miss out on the blessing of serving Christ and the world in His Name.

We are exploring posting the Skype video conference on the blog and will continue this conversation into the future.

Blessings to you all!

Caleb Crider will be presenting in our Pastor’s Conference on February 14th. We will begin at 10:00 am and Caleb will join us via Video Conference.  Caleb will be speaking about a recent article that he posted to his site.  You can find the article HERE.  In his effort to begin writing for the new year Caleb offered what I believe to be a realistic view of churches who do not actively engage the mission of God in their community.

Our discussion will primarily focus on how churches can once again take up the mantle for mission in their community, and the world.  How do we align our vision with God’s mission?  How do we align our resources with God’s mission?  How do we find God’s mission?  These are vital questions that we must engage if we are to be effective and useful in the work of the Lord.

Blessings to you in Christ our Lord!
